Welcome to 2012: A Word from the 2012 YPN Chair

| January 23, 2012 | 1 Comment

As the new chair of the Young Professionals of the Naperville Chamber, I am honored to lead the organization into 2012. YPN is coming off of a very successful 2011 under the leadership of Dr. Cathy Subber, and I am confident the momentum will continue into this year. Many thanks to Cathy and the advisory board for all of their hard work in 2011.

I would like to take a moment to highlight some of the successes from 2011 and share some of the plans for 2012. This past year, YPN increased its membership numbers with a revised membership plan, updated its mission statement, and strengthened the advisory board. In the upcoming year, YPN will focus on providing high-quality programming aimed at both professional and personal development. The 2012 YPN Professional Development Series will offer young professionals in the Naperville area the chance to develop and fine tune their management and leadership skills. We will also continue to offer opportunities to build and strengthen professional relationships through monthly networking events.

YPN furthers the Chamber’s mission by promoting the growth and development of the next generation of business and civic leaders. YPN provides professional and personal growth, develops leadership skills, and encourages business alliances through participation, education, programming, recruitment and mutual support within the Chamber and community.

I have been a member of YPN since 2009 and can’t say enough good things about the organization. It has helped me grow both personally and professionally, particularly in the areas of civic engagement and community service. In today’s environment, it’s more important than ever to focus on your development; YPN provides the tools, resources and opportunities to do just that. I am excited for what this year holds and look forward to furthering the mission of the Young Professionals of the Naperville Chamber.
